Backing up your Joomla site
Backing up your Joomla site is extremely important and sometimes not the easiest thing to do. Since the evolution of Joomla and Mambo CMS before that, there have been a small number of components available to Backup your site and restore if needed. They worked well sometimes but as an administrator of many Joomla sites I found the backup components didn't work well on every Joomla version and were inconsistant. A new Backup component was released called JoomlaCloner. This Backup component makes backing up, restoring and moving a Joomla site very easy.

I usually would suggest that new Joomla users stick to FREE Components and Modules because there are so many good ones out there but occasionally a product comes along that saves so much time and headaches it's worth the money....that's where JoomlaCloner comes in.

When Joomlacloner makes a backup of your Joomla site it gives you options to include or exclude files. If you are a beginner..just hit the backup button and it's about that easy.

For those of you new to Joomla it's important to remember the site runs from a database unlike simple HTML sites, so the database has to be backed up as well as the site itself. This is done automatically with JoomlaCloner and if you are unfortunate enough to have your site hacked....this Backup and Restore utility makes it easy to get back up and running quickly.
